THE SHINY DIMES

Allen Brown Woodard and Patrick Roberts form the songwriting duo The Shiny Dimes, blending decades of musical experience into a partnership built on melody, grit, and collaboration. Allen, originally from Montana and Seattle and now based in Spearfish, SD, picked up guitar after seeing the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show at age eight and has since written more than 300 songs. Patrick, from Rapid City, SD, grew up in a musical family, cutting his teeth performing in church before fronting his band Flannel for more than 15 years. Together, Allen and Patrick balance each other’s strengths: Allen with his knack for melody and arrangements, Patrick with his evocative lyrics and voice. Their work as The Shiny Dimes showcases the chemistry of a true songwriting duo, where every song is shaped in service of the music.
